My
day job is rubbish. Literally. I work in waste, helping people
to reduce, reuse and recycle. As such, I've come to be at
the dirty end of the main cause of environmental problems:
consumption.
Mass consumption of manufactured goods
can't be stopped over night – and I'm not sure we should
even try to stop it. But I do think we should address the
impact it has, which is why I set up Low & Behold.
We are here to create clothes that
have a low impact on the planet. From the materials they're
made of and the ways they're transported, to the ways we package
and market them, we consider our environmental and social
impact at every stage.
Climate change is real – and
I believe that we can do something about it. I also believe
we can be a company that has a positive impact. Whatever your views, using less resources and no pesticides,
and producing less emissions and less waste, is better for
this business, for the people who buy our T-shirts and for
the planet as a whole.
